Beau
Beau
We are deeply saddened to have to announce that yesterday our beautiful Beau (Pagency Kisfa Rihanna) had to take that dreaded trip across the Rainbow Bridge - it was all very sudden and so very unexpected. ππ
Beau had an operation about 10 days ago to remove a mammary tumour and she was recovering really well... Tuesday she was back to her normal happy, cheeky self and she was even playing with our puppy Noodles - she was even back to head-butting me with her ‘cone of shame’ that she was wearing to stop her chewing the stitches on her wound. Yesterday morning when we got up we noticed that she wasn’t her usual happy-go-lucky self but didn’t think too much of it thinking that the painkiller that she was on had not quite worn off.
We offered her a lamb’s neck and a chicken carcass both of which she ignored so, at this point, we were starting to become concerned because if there’s one thing our Beau loved it was her grub! Ann booked her in at the vet and we were due to take her in at 15:40 but told if we were concerned then to take her in straight away...
We took her across the way for a short walk and to see if eating some grass might make her feel better and she really wasn’t bothered at all. On the way back her rear end gave way and she was really struggling to walk - we eventually got her back on the drive and into Ann’s car and from there we went directly to the vet.
Eva (our vet) saw Beau on arrival and quickly confirmed that the poor girl had severe internal bleeding... totally unrelated to aforementioned operation - we were given the opportunity to let them carry out an operation to try and resolve the issue but the overall prognosis, given Beau’s age, was not particularly good. There was a very high risk that she might not survive the op and, even if she did, she would probably only have another three/four months at best. So, on that basis, we took the incredibly hard decision to let our baby girl go with dignity and us by her side...
We are very appreciative of the way Eva at Greens Veterinary Practice, Sheffield supported us at such short notice and the compassion that she displayed throughout - we are also so thankful to her for allowing us (given the current circumstances re Covid-19) to be with Beau as she took her final journey... can’t explain just how important this was to us.
We are so grateful that Beau came into our lives just over 10 years ago and we cannot thank Dianne and Alan at Pagency Leonbergers, Stoke on Trent enough for letting this beautiful girl share her life with us these past 10 plus Years.
We'll never forget you Beau and we both miss you so much already. Rest easy over that Rainbow Bridge old girl and make sure that you keep our Gracie and Bruin in line when you get there. πΎπΎπΎ
